Stripping and Refinishing

Whether it be varnish, shellac, wax, oil, paint or lacquer, we can strip it!

Stripping is the process by which surface finishes are removed, multiple layers
at a time down to bare wood surfaces. Pieces painted over finish strip easily,
while others painted on raw wood are more difficult- but the end result is what
counts.

Stripping and Refinishing is the common wordage used to Restore a piece to
its original factory-new look. Once finish is stripped off, we make any needed
cosmetic repairs and use a base stain color similar to what was originally used,
followed by finishing procedures to obtain the desired end result.

Our finishing is higher quality than the original. Each piece is carefully worked
and finished, whereas manufacturers use an assembly line technique to spray
stain and finish in a very quick and overly efficient manner to which Quality is
diminished. It is very disappointing to see very ornate, marvelous high quality
pieces with a rough, miscolored and spotty sheen finish- it defeats the whole
purpose!
